It’s not the mountains or the lakes or the sunshine that make for beautiful engagement photos. Sure those things do make photos beautiful! But that’s not what makes it my ideal shoot.

It’s when couples are just themselves. Not trying to be something they aren’t, just them being them. Making each other laugh, sweet little kisses, that happy sigh that comes out when you see your person after a long day and wrap each other up in a hug, finally at home in each other’s arms.

These photos are exactly that! Angela and Dawson, being Angela and Dawson. We took these at the dock where they spent a lot of time early on in their relationship.

He almost kissed her here for the first time but psyched himself out! A story that still makes them smile.

So much has changed since then, which made it all the more meaningful taking their photos in a place that feels like theirs. “This really feels like us” they told me halfway through 🙂 With snacks and dr. pepper not too far away, it was just them being them.
