Rustic Reel Wedding in Kelowna + Knox Mountain Portraits

My final wedding of 2024 — such a wonderful way to wrap the season!

K+S were a dream to photograph — so warm, so kind, and so genuinely lovely to be around. We took their portraits up on Knox Mountain, where the view stretches from the bridge in Kelowna up to Lake Country. The golden light, the calm air — it all felt unrushed and natural, and the photos reflect that.

The rest of the day unfolded at Rustic Reel Brewing Co. It’s cozy and full of charm — a perfect fit for their intimate celebration with close friends. I always love shooting here: they have the kindest staff, beautiful ambient light, and such an intimate feel. They always serve dinner family-style, which feels really special for weddings.

I remember K saying how much she adored working with her makeup artist and hair stylist that morning, and it really stuck with me — in only a day of knowing them, you could tell they’re the kind of people who speak so well of others. Here’s even the review she wrote for me:

“‘Thank you’ doesn’t feel adequate enough because what you gave us on our wedding day was so much more than just stunning photos. How lucky we are to see our day through your eyes.

It was so important to us to feel relaxed entering this next chapter, and you brought such an aura of tranquility, but also such joyfulness! You blended in so well we sometimes forgot you were there (also credited to your ability to quietly run through the forest with 4–5 cameras on your body hahaha).

We’re camera-shy folks who had fun because you allowed us to be ourselves and nurtured authenticity.

You make it look easy, but we know you were working incredibly hard to intentionally and thoughtfully capture moments we may have otherwise already forgotten or overlooked. Your talent shines through your photography, but more importantly, how you photograph — and the impact of your presence on the people you work with.”

So grateful I got to end the year with these two.
